La fattoria di PAN nasce da una visione. Una visione di due persone che si sono incontrate per caso, Abdelhak e Paola. E nasce grazie al sostegno di una donatrice che vuole restare anonima e che ha permesso a PAN di acquistare un terreno di 3 ettari piantato ad ulivi e carrubi.
La visione sottostante la fattoria di PAN è quella di rendere l’area circostante un’oasi verde. La fattoria si trova a circa 40 km da Marrakech e vista dall’alto è già essa stessa un’oasi, una macchia verde all’interno di un territorio arido e semi-desertico dove l’acqua scarseggia. I pozzi infatti attingono l’acqua a oltre 100 metri di profondità e le coltivazioni presenti sono tutte ad alto consumo idrico. L’idea è quella di introdurre un tipo di agricoltura sostenibile e basata su consociazioni tra piante che si auto-sostengano e che impattino il meno possibile sul fabbisogno di acqua.
La fattoria di PAN è un luogo dove sperimentare questo tipo di agricoltura in modo da replicarla anche nel resto del territorio. PAN FARM (a multi-episode story )
PAN farm was born from a vision. A vision of two people who met by chance, Abdelhak and Paola. And it was born thanks to the support of a donor who wishes to remain anonymous and who allowed PAN to purchase 3 hectares of land planted with olive and carob trees.
The vision underlying the PAN farm is to make the surrounding area a green oasis. The farm is located about 40 km from Marrakech and seen from above it is already an oasis itself, a green spot within an arid and semi-desert territory where water is scarce. In fact, the wells draw water from over 100 meters deep and the crops present are all highly water consuming. The idea is to introduce a type of sustainable agriculture based on associations between plants that are mutually sustaining and which impact as little as possible on water needs.
PAN farm is a place to experiment with this type of agriculture in order to replicate it in the rest of the territory.
