Durante la settimana che la nostra presidente ha passato a Marrakech ci sono state le prime camminate al guinzaglio per i cani più piccoli. Dopo Laika, la cane corso, è stata la volta di Elsa, la simil-pastore belga che una turista francese ci aveva affidato dopo averla recuperata dalla strada.
Insegnare ai cuccioli a camminare al guinzaglio è un esercizio che serve per sviluppare l’attenzione e il rispetto dei comandi. Inoltre, la passeggiata viene associata all’esplorazione dell’ambiente esterno dove tutto è nuovo e incute timore. Pertanto sentire la presenza ed i comandi dell’umano serve anche per creare un legame di fiducia. Del resto, noi speriamo che Elsa troverà una famiglia e quindi la stiamo preparando a comportarsi da brava signorina!

During the week that our president spent in Marrakech there were the first leash walks for the smaller dogs. After Laika, the Cane Corso, it was the turn of Elsa, the Belgian shepherd-like dog that a French tourist had given to us after having rescued her from the street.
Teaching puppies to walk on a leash is an exercise that helps develop attention and respect for commands. Furthermore, the walk is associated with the exploration of the external environment where everything is new and can be frightening. Therefore feeling the presence and commands of the human also serves to create a bond of trust. We hope that Elsa will find a family and therefore we are preparing her to behave like a good young lady!
